Welcome to another thrilling year for New Jersey Odyssey of the Mind!

We have some new faces on the board this year, so please join me in a hearty NJ OotM "Hello and welcome!" to Trish Hatton (former Woodstown Omer and Coach) and Sarah Pankiewicz (former Omer from Ewing) as our new Officials Coordinators. Please welcome Tim Tower (from Manalapan) as our new Marketing and Recruitment Director. Sharon Burrell (from Sampson G Smith) and Marlene Hingstman (former Ewing Coach) are taking over Merchandising from Sue Cavanaugh as Sue takes a much-needed break (thank you, Sue!). Finally, please welcome Kim Sherwood (former Sayerville Omer) as the Classics Assistant Problem Captain and Nick Pankiewicz (former Ewing Omer) as the State Finals Coordinator and Assistant Tournament Director.

Congrats to all the teams who made it to worlds and gave New Jersey one of our best showings in years! We look forward to seeing the competition heat up as the 2009 competition year begins!

The final arrangements for the World Prep Day have been confirmed! It will be held in Hazlet at the Middle Road School (305 Middle Rd, Hazlet, NJ). The teams who are going to help design the Creativity Booth activity and the our Banner are welcomed to attend. You do not have to bring all of the team members, just those who might want to participate. Your pin and T-shirt order will be there. If you will not be there, contact to make arrangements to receive your orders.

The NJ State Finals were held yesterday, Saturday, April 12th in Woodstown, NJ! Thanks to everyone who made this an excellent tournament! Most of all - congratulations to our winners! See you in Maryland!

Coaches, there are a few pieces of business that we need to conduct to make sure your teams are on the schedule and ready to go for the State Finals Tournament at Woodstown. Please visit the State Finals page to find out what to do!

Important Note: If you received a trophy and/or ribbon at one of the regional tournaments, you are automatically being advanced to State Finals. There is no need to re-register your team, we will take your information from the regional tournament databases.

The Lighthouse Regional Tournament results are now available. A big 'thank you' goes out to all of our Lighthouse officials, judges and volunteers who worked very hard to put on another incredibly smooth tournament! The arrival times for Officials Training on February 2nd are now set. Novice officials, please arrive at 8:30 am. Experienced officials, please arrive at 9:30 am. Thank you!

Coaches-
You may now register your teams online for both the Liberty and Lighthouse Regional Tournaments! Use the links in the menu on the left to register!

Officials-
Officials registration is also now available for both regional tournaments! The training date has been set for Saturday, February 2, 2008. See you there!

All coaches will need to bring their lunch for October 20th. There will be no lunches sold that day by the Odyssey teams.

With the new school year upon us, coaches training for both the Liberty and Lighthouse regions is coming up! The dates for training this year are October 20th at Woodstown High School & Middle School and November 17th at Crossroads Middle School. Coaches can attend either one, but they are required to attend at least one. Registration is required and online registration will be available soon. For more information, please click here.

We're looking forward to another fun and exciting year of Odyssey of the Mind! To support this, we've worked hard over the summer to update our site to be more accessible and easier to read. Pull up a chair, poke around and look for all the new information you want to see.

In other news, our tournament dates have been confirmed for this year. The Liberty Regional Tournament will be taking place on March 8, 2008 at Piscataway High School in Piscataway, NJ. The Lighthouse Regional Tourmanet will be taking place on March 15, 2008 at Ewing High School in Ewing, NJ. The State Finals will be on April 12, 2008 and will be at Woodstown High School in Woodstown, NJ. Good luck to all teams this year!
